BIBLE VERSE:

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

QUOTE TO REMEMBER:

“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”

-Thomas A. Edison

THIS WEEK IN HISTORY:

Heavy smog begins to hover over London, England, on December 5, 1952. It persists for five days, leading to the deaths of at least 4,000 people. HERE!

A RESOURCE TO CONSIDER:

We are just a short time away from making our New Year’s resolutions, and for many of us health, physical fitness will be at that top of our lists of things we want to improve on in 2024. Studies have found that people who have weight loss goals are more successful when they keep a food diary. So, for your consideration, the resource for this week is the “My Fitness Pal” APP.

STU ON THIS:

Play around on my website for any length and time and you’ll quickly find out that I am a Pastor in VR spaces. It’s a unique role, and not one I would have ever imagined I would be doing. I would highly suggest listening to any of the episodes of the Metaverse Church Podcast to find out more about ministry in the Metaverse spaces. But, one thing I have been thinking about lately is the amazing opportunity that someone has to practice evangelism in VR.

Sharing ones faith is sometimes a very hard practice, and its scary. We can get concerned about how the other person will respond, what If we say the wrong things, what if the other person ask a question you don’t have an answer to? What can make it more difficult is if we don’t get the opportunity to share our faith on a regular basis. It would seem the longer someone is a follower of Jesus, the more their friendship circles are filled with people who already believe what they believe in. There’s nothing wrong with this of course, but, as followers of Jesus, we are called to reach the lost, and we can’t do that when we aren’t around the lost.

In VR, there are nearly 200 million users, the majority of which don’t have any kind of faith. Just by spending time in the VR spaces, you are guaranteed to cross paths with someone you will have the opportunity to share your faith with, and what I have learned so far about VR, EVERYONE gets a new level of boldness that seems to be missing in real life. If you want to strengthen the skill have sharing your faith with others, might I suggest throwing on a VR headset and get into spaces with people who are searching for some hope?

Until next Stuesday,
