BIBLE VERSE:

24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. 25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.

Galatians 5:24-25 (NLT)

QUOTE TO REMEMBER:

"There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure."

-Colin Powell

THIS WEEK IN HISTORY:

December 25, 1914, Just after midnight on Christmas morning, the majority of German troops engaged in World War I cease firing their guns and artillery and commence to sing Christmas carols. At certain points along the eastern and western fronts, the soldiers of Russia, France, and Britain even heard brass bands joining the Germans in their joyous singing. One feature that I absolutely love, other than the endless amount of amazing reading plans, is the apps streak tracker. This gamification feature helps me make sure I open up God’s Word everyday! plus I love watching that number get higher and higher. Download the app, send me a friend request, and let’s study God’s Word together in 2024!

STU ON THIS:

It’s common for all of us to prep for the new year thinking about the things we want to accomplish and the goals we will chase after. For some of us, those goals will be met with much success, and for others, well, there is always 2025, right? (I’m just kidding!).

Most of the time, these goals we set are usually something we want to see done, something that betters or lives. But, have you ever thought about pausing and asking God what He wants for you this next year? Believe it or not, God has a better plan and purpose for your life than what you can dream up or imagine for yourself. And maybe, just maybe, our own ambitions get in the way of what God has dreamed up for us.

Here’s my challenge for you this week. We are a few short days away from seeing 2024 enter our lives. Spend these next days asking God what He wants for you this next year. Maybe it will be on par with what you are wanting to see for yourself, or maybe you’ll have to take deep breath, ask God if you heard Him right, and pivot and move His way. I guarantee you’ll be glad you did, His plans are better!

Until next Stuesday,
